Danny won two WQS this summer !
|
Danny`s on a winning streak again! He won two WQS events back-to-back, including the 4-Star O'Neill Surf Challenge in July. Danny`s no stranger to consecutive victories, having gained international acclaim when he won back-to-back WCT Grade 2 events in Japan during the 1998 season. He recently added another heat win to his tally in beating Rob Machado (USA) and Armando Daltro (Brz).
It's been really good, Wills said about his string of excellent results. Funnily enough we had waves in England (for the 4-Star Rip Curl Newquay Pro), then we had really good waves again at Anglet (France).
It's just the way it seems to go (laughs), he continued. You get on a high and just try and stay on the roll and keep focused. I really want to do well on the WCT though, that's where it's at - I want to make the top 16 this year (he finished 22nd in 1999). I've built up a lot of confidence and my boards are working really well, so I hope it all works out.

If you could give three pieces of advice to someone travelling to Indo for the first time, what would they be?
Be prepared to pay the cops, look out for banchongs, don't give shit to the Balos.
The five most essential items for a trip to Indo...
Condoms, money, boards, ding repair kit, tropical wax.
Goin' off Danny !!
