The Roxy Jam took place 11 - 12 June 2000 at Bidart France and was dedicated to womens surfing. Invited participants from around the globe attended and took part in categories that included surfing shortboard, longboard, tandem, Hawaiian pirogue, and an introduction to surfing.
Four-time world champion Lisa Adersen (USA), Spanish twins Iballa & Daida Moreno World funboard champion and runner up, Olympic silver medallist Stine Brun-Kjeldass, joined Veronica Kay (USA), Koral McCarthy(Haw.), Carolyn Sarran, European Champion, and others to take part in this first time event.
The Teenie Wahines clearly demonstrated there is no shortage of enthusiastic and talented youngsters on the way to follow in the steps of their "seniors", and the champions were only too please too encourage and help the "up and coming" talent.
