Golfers spend a "fantasy day" playing a round of golf with a professional during the Thursday pro-am on most PGA golf tournaments. - There's fantasy baseball camps where fans of all ages spend time with baseball legends from the past.

Now, thanks to SurfBoards By You, surfers can have their "dream day" spending the day with Endless Summer I & II legend Robert August, actually shaping and creating their own surfboard.

Robert's factory is in Huntington Beach, CA. Up to five people will spend the day there, first watching Robert shape a board, then for the next six hours, with Roberts assistance each person will spend the day shaping his own board. Within a few days the board will be glassed and shipped to each person's home.

You can shape any board you want, customizing it to your own specs. You can even have Robert sign it with you. Parts of the day will also be video taped for your own personal memento of the day.

SurfBoards By You is the idea of Bill Wade of San Diego. "I was at a local contest where thirty or so legends were competing. There I was watching Corky Carrol, Donald Takayama, Mike Doyle and all these hero's of mine from the sixties, and the idea just came to me: wouldn't it be cool to spend a day with one of these guys and make a board with them ?
I then talked to a few of them and decided Robert August would be perfect. Everyone knows him from The Endless Summer films, he has the facility, and he's a great guy. He too liked the idea, so that clinched it." says Wade.
