Tim qualfiies for 2009 World Tour

A little biography
Tim was born to parents who lived on a sailing yacht based in the Caribbean. During this period they voyaged widely under sail – 3 trans-Atlantic trips, and many shorter trips around the Caribbean and to USA. Tim started surfing, bodyboarding, swimming, sailing, and school in these years up to 1988.
In 1989 Tim’s family moved to Western Australia and were based at Cottesloe & Scarborugh Beach. They traveled widely in WA. Tim continued his surfing, swimming, tennis, & school. His parents were part of the support gang for crew-members on Rothmans the Whitbread Round the World racing yacht.
In 1990 the family relocated to the Cote d’Azur, in the South of France, Tim took up an active sailing career at Antibes Yacht Club, and was two times French National Champion in Optimist class. His other sports at this time were skiing, tennis, and surfing. He traveled to Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Corsica, Ireland, England, for international sailing regattas.
In 1994 Tim stopped his promising sailing career to surf in all his available free time. He won his first surfing contest in St Barths FWI, and the same season took second at Palavas France where he was spotted by a talent scout Jean Paul Destinave from French Surfing Federation, who invited him to summer events on French Atlantic coast.
In 1995 Tim was invited to join National Surf School (limited to 15 surfers) in Biarritz, and selected to join the Quiksilver European Surf Team. Up to 2000, he surfed National Cadet and Junior events mostly with distinction.
Tim commenced his Pro Junior Career in 2000 and was selected as a member of French Team for ISA Worlds & Regional events. He was awarded bank grant to him finance and progress his surfing career. The Irish Surfing Association persued him to surf for Ireland, taking advantage of his Irish heritage.
2003 saw Tim compete in selected WQS events and the European ASP Junior events. An ankle injury prevented him from completing the Junior circuit however he finished 2nd overall, claiming the Vice Champion of Europe spot. He represented Europe at 2003 Billabong ASP World Junior Championships in Narrabeen NSW.
2004 was his first full year on the WQS circuit. He finished first at Peniche with a stunning performance still commented on years later. The same season he surfed selected 4, 5, & 6 star events and the regional EPSA events
The first full year WQS circuit including all 5 & 6 star events + all available 4 star events took up all his time in 2005. He had a Quarter-final finish (5th) at the 6 star WQS Ericeira event, a Semi final finish at the 4 star WQS La Santa Surf pro, Canaries. His interest in golfing increased this same year, and extended to lessons & coaching. He won the first golf tournament he entered.
2005 saw some big changes in Tims life: His grandmother died in Dublin Ireland while he was at the US Open of Surfing in California, His log-time sponsorship with Quiksilver came to an end and he joined Reef as their lead European surfer.
His close and very good friend Malik Joyeau died on the North Shore, Tim was supposed to have been surfing with him at the time, but played golf instead, returning to the beach just as everyone was searching the water for Malik’s body.
In 2006 Tim has started the year off well rating-wise, but experienced a lull in mid-season. His best result in 2006 was in Thurso Scotland, an event he thoroughly enjoyed, partly thanks to the wave, and partly thanks to the golfing.
He surfed La Jolla the “Somewhere in Mexico” spot where Rip Curl held their Search WCT, three weeks before the event. He reports the wave is everything that has been said about it during the WCT event and is event better than Snapper in Queensland.
He represented France at the 2006 ISA World Games in USA, where he surfed with distinction, and honed his skills further under the watchful eye of Didier Piter. Further studying of sports phsycology principals and a robust physical fitness program resulted in improved performances.
The later part of 2006 saw fair to mediocre results. He is the first to admit the WQS circuit is a hard tough slog, but the prize if achieved is well worth the effort. He is one of the few WQS surfers with direct Irish origin and nationality.
In 2006 he also studied spiritual principals and the foundations of prosperity and abundance in one’s life. This has served him well in every aspect of his life.
2007 started off for Tim with a fair result in Florida, and only slightly better in Brazil. Further coaching and a break for a photo shoot in Morrocco saw a shifting of the mental gears, and the first two events on the WQS Australian leg revealed his ability to put his talent to expert use. He won the Reef Vendee Pro WQS 4*, came 2nd at Estoril Coast Pro WQS 3*, 3rd Maitland Toyota Newcastle Pro WQS 4*, and 4th Hot Tuna Central Coast Pro WQS 4*. He crowned his year with claiming the 2007 French National Open Champion title (FFS), as well as the 2007 Vice Champion ASP Europe title, and 2007 Vice Champion ISA Europe title.

2008 had a good start for Tim with a 5th place result in Brazil, followed in July with a stunning 2nd place finish at the US Open in HB Ca, and followed in September with an outstanding 1st place at the Zarautz Rip Curl Pro. These results combined with a series of good and fair results saw Tim amass 11888 points on the WQS rating ensuring his qualification for the 2009 ASP World Tour, a goal he had set himself whilst still a young Junior surfer.
During the ten month period November 2007 to September 2008, Tim accomplished 3 major goals;
1 To qualify for the ASP World Tour 2 To become European Champion 3 To become French National Champion
All in all with his competitive surfing experience, surf-trips worldwide, ranging from the Mentawais to Northern Norway, and from Japan to Florida, plus film-making and photo shoots and lots more, Tim has already led a fantastic life, and the future looks bright indeed.
