REEF Turns 25 - Celebratory Micro-site Launches on Reef.com

Reef is turning 25, and we are honoring the occasion with the launch of a 25th celebratory micro-site on Reef.com. A historical timeline of Reef highlights, a feature on the re-released “Original Striped Smoothy” as well as a gallery of the 25 best Miss Reef’s of all time are glorified on the micro-site. November 26th, 1984, is known as “Saint Reef” day. This fateful day, Fernando and Santiago visited a factory in Brazil and made plans to create Reef sandals.  With $4000 in capital, the brothers set out to design the best active lifestyle sandal on the market.

Reef’s VP of Marketing, Kevin Flanagan, states, “We couldn’t let this milestone go by unnoticed. The micro-site is the perfect way to share our heritage, brag a little about our world-class athletes and re-visit some key highlights of Reef’s rich twenty-five year history.”

One of the major highlights in Reef History is Miss Reef, a unique icon in the global surfing community.  Flanagan continues,  “Miss Reef has always been at the cornerstone of our brand. This anniversary was the perfect time to pay homage to her, as well as give back to her loyal fans.”

The 25th Micro site will give those fans a chance to cast their vote through Surfline.com to determine the #1 Miss Reef of all time. Surfline CEO, Jonno Wells, comments, “Our users have long appreciated Miss Reef’s iconic image. We expect this event to be one of our most successful promotions in terms of shear amount of unique and repeat visitors.”
