The tenth and last stop of the Tour is considered one of the most important, therefore, to culminate it, we can know the surfer who will take the absolute victory of this year, devoting as the Champion ALAS 2008.
There are several surfers who crave the award, however, only three of them are with all the possibilities of taking the prized title.
The first is the Venezuelan Francisco 'Lolo' Bellorín, who will give all of himself for not take off his crown. This young surfer takes to lead the rankings since he won in Panama. After that date, Lolo has had to struggle against larger competitors continue to Latinos in the first position. Despite didnt win in the following championships, he got good results which helped to keep adding points to continue to lead the rankings. This year, Bellorín has participed in all the stops of the Tour, in each of them he showed their strength and dexterity in the maneuvers. If at this late date, Francisco gets a better position than the 9th, will consecrate the Champion ALAS.
The second surfer who has great potential to take the title, is the Mexican Diego Cadena but he doesnt have anything easy so Diego needs to win in Jaco and Bellorín has to get the 9th position, but if he get a better score, Cadena will lose the ability to seize the prize. Like Lolo, Diego Cadena was present at all stops of the Tour, Argentina and Mexico remain the top two positions.
Finally, Ernesto Nunes is in the same situation as Cadena. For crowned twice champion ALAS, the Brazilian needs to take the victory in this event and Lolo gets the 5th place, however, to take the title of subchampion, Nunes precise left in the 2nd place and that Bellorín gets the 9th position. Ernesto, like Bellorín and Cadena, competed in all stops of the Tour, but their results werent high enough to position in the top of the ranking, however, the victory he won in Mexico, helped him climb to the summit , joining the fight for the title.
In this category, Francisco Bellorín victory is in his hands but Dylan Southworth doesnt drop his arms until the final minute because if he dont reach crowned as Junior Champion, the Subchampion is pretty close. Dylan will fight to snatch the title to the Venezuelan Bellorín or anyone take away his second place.
Those who are behind the position of the Mexican Southworth, are Rafael Pereira and Jesus Chacon. Both Venezuelans are different from Dylan with so few point, in Costa Rica they will go in search of the best positions to get the necessary score and get the subchampion title.
In the ranking of Woman category, victory is among Agostina Pellizari (ARG) and Sofia Borquez (CHI). They are only 77 points that Sofia has an advantage before the Argentine Pellizari, so for the latter stop, we will see both competitors fighting for the top spot in this category.
The Twice Champion Perez
Finally, in the category Longboard everything is defined. The Argentine Martin Perez got his degree in Venezuela, when he got the first place in the ninth stop of the Tour. After four victories on the Tour this ear, Martin Perez enshrined as the Latin American Longboard Champion 2008.
