HIF presents 2014 Australian Skin Cancer Clinics NSW Longboard Titles
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 June, 2014 - Sydney - Some of NSW’s best longboarders will duke it out when the 2014 Australian Skin Cancer Clinics NSW Longboard Titles presented by HIF kicks off in the Great Lakes region. The four-day event - which commences on Wednesday, 18th of June - will see a variety of different age groups and divisions battling it out in hope of gaining a spot in the Australian Surf Festival to be held at Coffs Harbour in August.
2009 ASP World Longboard Champion Harley Ingleby (Emerald Beach, NSW) will be competing in the Australian Skin Cancer Clinics NSW Longboard Titles presented by HIF and is excited by the prospect of qualifying for the Australian Surf Festival in his hometown of Coffs Harbour as well as competing in Great Lakes region.
“I love the Forster region and have been lucky enough to score some great waves there over the years. I can’t wait to get down there for the event,” said Ingleby. “The NSW State Titles has always been a tough competition and I expect this year will be no exception. With any luck I’ll be able to book myself a spot into the Australian Surf Festival in August and compete in an event on my own doorstep.”
Due to the eclectic variety of waves in the Great Lakes area, the event will be fully mobile and can be held anywhere between the Pacific Palms region and Tuncurry. Surfing NSW intends to mix up locations for the events depending on conditions and will seek the most appropriate waves for the discipline.Event sponsor Australian Skin Cancer Clinics will be on site daily giving all competitors, family, staff and spectators free bulk-billed skin cancer checks.
The 2014 Australian Skin Cancer Clinics NSW Longboard Titles presented by HIF will run straight after the HIF NSW Surfmasters Titles presented by Moby's Beachside Retreat and prior to the Australian Kneeboard Titles on June 22nd.
