2015 NRMA NSW Junior State Titles.

Port Macquarie, Australia
10 - 16 July 2015

Juniors flock to Port Macquarie for 2015 NRMA NSW Junior State Titles.

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 29 June, 2015 - Sydney, Australia - NSW’s most promising and talented junior surfers will once again return to Port Macquarie from July 10 – 16, for the 2015 NRMA NSW Junior State Titles.

Over 350 competitors will partake in the event as they vie for a NSW Junior Title and in turn, earn their position into the upcoming 2015 Surf Dive N Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles, which will take place on Stradbroke Island from November 28 – December 5.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Mayor Peter Besseling said locals were looking forward to welcoming back competitors for this year’s NRMA NSW Junior State Titles.

“The Port Macquarie-Hastings is a fantastic surf destination, not to mention being a breeding ground for surfing champions such as Matt Banting, Darren O’Rafferty, Mick Campbell, Ian Bell and Wayne and Grant Hudson.

“There’s plenty of variety when it comes to our beaches and surf conditions, which I’m sure will result in some impressive waves for the talented surfers descending on our region.

“Securing the titles reinforces the area’s track record for hosting major sporting events, as well as being a great opportunity for locals to enjoy some top class surfing action,” Cr Besseling said.

Surfing NSW CEO Mark Windon is equally as excited to see the titles unfold.

“The NRMA NSW Junior State Titles is one of Surfing NSW’s blue-ribbon events and something that is highly anticipated amongst competitors and staff each and every year.

“A NSW Junior Title is a coveted trophy that can often pave the way for participants to chase their dreams at the Aussie Juniors and then onward to the Pro Juniors, Qualifying Series and World Tour. Over the years, we’ve seen current World Tour competitors such as Tyler Wright, Sally Fitzgibbons, Laura Enever, Owen Wright and Matt Banting all compete in this event as they’ve all seen the importance of having a NSW Junior Championship in their resume,” said Windon.
