Aaron Rose joins DC Shoes for their artist project series
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 6 November, 2008 : - - DC is proud to announce it latest Artist Projects collaboration with Aaron Rose. The artist, independent curator, and writer has been a visionary in the skateboarding/alternative art culture, helping shape is growth through influential projects like the Alleged Gallery and 'Beautiful Losers: Contemporary Art & Street Culture.'
Working closely with DC's Artist Projects creator and friend Damon Way, Rose joined the brand for his first Artist Projects Series. Rose's Artist Projects shoe is inspired from his life's influences and from the mod culture he discovered in his early teens. The simple suede shoe popular of that era was reinterpreted through modern eyes to create his 2008 Artist Projects Shoe.
Available in classic brown and camel colorways, the low top shoe's interior is lined with red and mustard plaid fabric and feature red and white designed insoles. Rose designed custom gum soles for the project that feature a repeating teardrop pattern with a single clear teardrop exposing a cork interior. Finished with red laces and stitching, the shoes are packaged in a custom shoe bag, along with a mini 'zine and Rose designed box.
This collab consists in a program of free, public events, hosted by Aaron Rose, for the launch of his Artist Series project in Europe,in association with The I.C.A & Dover Street Market, London and Palais de Tokyo & Colette, Paris.
