New Blog By Adam Robertson about Maldives

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 17 June, 2009 : - - After last years event in the Maldives I think I set my standards a little too high for this years event. Last year the waves were 3 to 5 foot perfection every day,  but this years event was a whole lot different! I arrived in the Maldives 3 days before the event started.  It’s an awesome place to hang out, get some nice warm up sessions and get out of the cold.

The first few days I only wanted to surf Pasta Point where the event is held each year. It was strange surfing out there with only a few guys, usually when the event is on you’re surfing it with about 30 to 50 other frothing pro surfers, which is NO fun!

But it was good to practice and find the line ups again. The forecast wasn’t looking so good for the event which was a bit of a bummer.  Bad winds and small swells,  but at least in the Maldives you’re guaranteed a peeler.  It’s just picking the right one that’s the hard part.  Especially on your backhand.
