Array of divisions open their Agnes Water Surfing Festival accounts

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 18 April, 2015 - Agnes Water, Queensland - Agnes Point turns on for day two of the HIF Agnes Water Surfing Festival presented by Bradnams Windows & Doors. Day two of the HIF Agnes Water Surfing Festival presented by Bradnams Windows & Doors saw Agnes Point turn on its trademark right hand break offering competitors with no shortage of scoring potential at the iconic point.

As competition resumed from the opening day of the event, day two saw competitors from an array of divisions open their Agnes Water Surfing Festival accounts. Clinton Farlow (Innes Park, QLD) kicked things off early in the peace winning round one of the Open Men’s Longboard division thus moving straight through to round three later that afternoon.

Farlow’s boost in confidence from his victory in round one proved to be a favourable factor in both his Open Men’s Short and Longboard divisions taking out both heats with first place finishes and demonstrating his ability across both disciplines.

Shortly after in an aggregate score final, Sister Sarah Farlow (Innes Park, QLD) instigated her Open Women’s Shortboard account finishing in first place with a heat total of 14.34 (Out of a possible 20) proving the talent runs through the Farlow family. Sarah will surf her second aggregate final in a bid to extend her lead in heat points and claim victory.

Towards the business end of competition, both competitors and spectators witnessed some of the most dynamic surfing from this year’s competition yet. Under 18 Boys Shortboard competitor, Max Kearney (Tugan, QLD) made good use of the favourable right hand bank and scored not only the highest single wave score of the event (9.33 Out of a possible 10) but also the highest heat total posting a 17.83 (Out of a possible 20).

Competition will resume tomorrow morning at 8:00am AEST with the finals for all divisions getting underway.
