Ballina SHire gives the green light at Lennox Heads, competition set to begin

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 4 July, 2015 - Lennox Heads, Australia - Due to a positive aerial and water surveillance across Ballina Shire beaches, the 2015 Skullcandy Oz Grom Open presented by Coolridge has been given the all-clear to run for day two of the event, beginning at 9am.

Skullcandy Oz Grom Open Event Director Cameron Lindsay stated: “Beaches in the Ballina Shire will be reopened at 9am and we will be resuming the 2015 Skullcandy Oz Grom Open presented by Coolridge at that time; based on the results of a successful aerial and water patrol."

"Local council, police, Surf Life Saving and the event committee have all deemed the event safe to recommence and we will continue to patrol the area, both from the air and the water, over the course of the day, ensuring the competitors safety."

The six-day event will see over 300 competitors duke it out in under-12, under-14 and under-16 divisions as well as a prestigious World Surf League (WSL) Junior Qualifying Series (JQS) event.
