Alizé's latest accolade is a real testament to her incredible talent
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 11 January, 2011 : - - Bordeaux, France -- ASI Management surfer Alizé Arnaud has kicked off the New Year in spectacular style by claiming the ASP Women's World Junior title at North Narrabeen in Australia.
A runner-up finish in October at the Oakley ASP World Pro Junior in Bali combined with a 3rd place finish at this week's Billabong ASP Women's World Junior Championships at North Narrabeen ensured a first World Championship title for the 20-year-old surfer from Capbreton, France.
The newly crowned World Junior Champion, speaking to the media after the contest, said: "This is just a really unbelievable feeling for me! To win this title in my last year as a Junior is really special, especially here in New South Wales where I've never surfed that well in the past. I'd like to thank my friends, family, and my sponsors for all the support! Now it's time to celebrate!"
Alizé's latest accolade is a real testament to her incredible talent in the line-up, as well as her ability to raise her game when it matters most. The ASP World Junior Tour unites surfing's best young talents from around the globe, and for anyone to rise to the top of the pile in that distinguished company is no mean feat.
ASP European Manager Greg Puget commented: "Alizé has just achieved something really special by winning one of surfing's most prestigious titles, and her achievement really does fly the flag high for European surfing.
