Ms. Hume says, “Phil has tremendous energy, and a real passion for the sport of amateur surfing. He believes in the ASF mission, and I know he will be a great asset to the organization, and to the ASF members."

Prior to his appointment as Executive Director, Phil has served as Co-Director of the South Carolina Chapter of the ASF.

Mr. Jackson states, “I am extremely excited to take on the challenging role as Executive Director of the Atlantic Surfing Federation. This amazing organization has welcomed my family and me with open arms and big hearts. Surfing means the world to me and I want to share my passion with others.

"I am blessed to have mentors such as Julie Hume to show me the ropes and guide me through the years. Surfing is more than just a sport, It is a lifestyle. If we all put our best foot forward we can change lives through surfing and the wonderful lifestyle that comes with it.

Mr. Jackson started surfing at the age of eight and surfed competitively until he was 20. After taking a few years off, he once again put on a competition singlet and has been actively involved in the contest scene since. Phil recently founded the Surf Dreams Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is helping kids who dream of being surfers and kids who are currently surfing, acquire surfboards and other necessary accessories such as wetsuits and leashes. Mr. Jackson also works as the General

Manager of the Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers in Myrtle Beach, SC, where he is responsible for the day to day operation of the restaurant.

The ASF Competition Director, Brian Broom said, "Phil brings an approach to the Federation that is rather unique and I am confident that his leadership of the Federation will be positive and full of energy. One cannot replace Julie Hume, but I am optimistic that Phil will be a great new leader for the ED chair. I give him my full support and welcome him to the Federation"
