Brittani Nicholl to lead Australian women's team

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 August, 2016 -  Team Australia will jet out to Costa Rica this week with a strong six surfer line up ready to take on the rest of the world at the 2016 International Surfing Association (ISA) World Surfing Games starting on August 6.

Playa Jacó ‘s beach breaks will host twenty eight of the best national teams in the world who will battle for gold medals and a chance to take the number one ranking from defending champions and tournament hosts, Costa Rica.

Australian team member and Cabarita local Brittani Nicholl said the entire team was looking forward to the challenge.

“None of the team has been to Costa Rica before so everyone is really looking forward to the experience because it is pretty exciting to be able to represent your country on the world stage in a great location,” Nicholl said. “We have a solid team and it would be great to bring home a medal or two so fingers crossed we can do that.”

The ISA World Surfing Games in Playa Jacó, Costa Rica will be contested between August 6-14 with the Parade of Nations and Opening Ceremony taking place on Saturday August 6 before competition begins the following morning of Sunday August 7.
