Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 22 February, 2008 : - - Kieren Perrow has signed with maverick Australian clothing label Rhythm shortly before his comeback event at Snapper this week. The former world number 4 says, "It's a new start in a lot of ways for me this year, and joining Rhythm is a big part of it. There's a real point-of-difference in everything they do and I feel like I'm part of something new. It's really refreshing.
"Here in Australia, it's been really noticeable in the last two years, you can't walk down the street without seeing their stuff: it's almost like a movement. One of the reasons they've been successful is because they use different methods to get their message out there." Rhythm is the brainchild of the Grey family, super-creative and respected garment tailors noted for their focus on quality and doing things on their own terms.
Rhythm's Ryan Grey says "It's an honour to have an athlete of Kieren's ability and intelligence as part of our surf team. Kieren's one of the hardest chargers in the game ... can't wait to see him pushing himself over the ledge at Pipe and Chopes wearing the Rhythm product." Kieren adds: "It's really refreshing, I'm freed up from the WQS tour this year so between events I'm going to be hunting solid waves on trips ... Just the pure thrill of surfing.
"And that suits the guys from Rhythm too. I've actually known the guys for a long time and I like the way they go about things. Exciting times."
