Tradies Surf Masters

Surfing New South Wales
Cronulla, New South Wales Australia
19 - 20 November 2011

Event will be part of the Annual Beach Bop Festival

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 15 November, 2011 : - - Summer is looking to come early and bring with it the Tradies Surfmasters 2011, on Sydney’s Cronulla Beach this weekend November 19 and 20, as part of the Annual Beach Bop Festival. The premier event attracts competitors of the more ‘Salty’ nature with divisions from over 40 to over 60’s in both men and women’s short and Longboard, making it a spectacular community event.

Cronulla local Rob Smith – who has won every division he has entered since the events conception three years ago – is looking forward to the event, which brings the community together. “I truly love this event, there are so many competitions around but with this I get to meet up with the crusty old surfers who have always been in the ocean and my wife and kids come down and have a dance at the festival”, said Smith.

The Tradies Surfmasters will be run in conjunction with Beach Bop - a 2-day Festival at North Cronulla showcasing classic surf cars, Surf Memorabilia and rock \'n\' roll from the 50\'s, 60\'s, 70\'s & 80\'s. “A lot of guys get together and have a beer and celebrate the spirit of being in the water, that’s what it’s all about – bringing the community together through surfing”, said Smith.

The massive weekend offers twelve prestigious titles and it’s not only the acclaimed accolades competitors are after but the prizes in 2011 are drawing in passionate surfers eager to take home the winnings. Jackson surfboards have prizes on offer including a Longboard, which will make a great addition to any surfers quiver.

RB Shapes are not only giving away a short board on the day, but showcasing their well-known BOARDJAM during the weekend, giving competitors and spectators a chance to demo the range.

A first for the annual event will see an exclusive competitor function launch, taking place on Friday 18th December. A classic Surf film, lucky door prizes, complimentary VB on arrival, finger food and discounted beverages and event running schedule will be unveiled on the night. VB have come on board yet again with Surfing NSW and a VB Slab of the day will be given to the best wave on both days of competition.

The event will be fully mobile in the Cronulla area with North Cronulla Beach, Elouera Beach, Wanda Beach, Cronulla Beach and Shelly Beach all venue options. The daily Running Schedule and Contest location will be confirmed on the Event Hotline (0458 247 212) after 6:45am each day of the event.
