Diah Rahayu extends contract with Rip Curl

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 22 April, 2014 - One of Indonesia's best known female surfers - Diah Rahayu has just extended her commitment to being part of the Rip Curl team for another two years.

Diah who comes from Legian, Bali, first made her debut in the Asian Surfing Championships in 2008 going onto complete every year eventually getting her best result when she came in runner-up position for the Asian Surfing Championship's in 2011.

Her love for surfing has been her soul since her early childhood years starting out when she joined the Rip Curl Team when she was just 13 years old.

During her time with Rip Curl, Diah has many stories to tell including competing against some of the best surfers from around the globe during her debut on the World Qualifying Series last year in Taiwan where she fought her way to the Semi Finals.

Other highlights of her career so far have seen Diah win a place though the Trails to compete at the World Pro Junior event held in Canggu, Bali 2013. More than being just a contest surfer Diah also has a busy photo shoot schedule for Indonesian Teen & Fashion media including GADIS, Cosmo Girl and a very recent feature in MAXIM magazine.

Rip Curl SE Asia Team Manager Dylan Amar commented, "Through the year's we supported Diah we have seen her grow through her teens and develop into a great athlete and well rounded person with big dreams, were stoked to extend our support and continue this relationship with Diah. She is a perfect roll-model for other young surf girls and a great ambassador to Rip Curl."

“Its such a thrill to keep moving forward with Rip Curl as a surfer! I’m so excited to continue my deal with Rip Curl, they’re like my extended family. The past seven years has been an education and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far, the next phase should be as  exciting or even better!” Diah said.
