Forecast for gale force winds shut down event
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 2 May, 2014 - Ocean Grove, Victoria - Surfing Victoria event organisers have made the decision to postpone the Round 1of the Be the Influence Victorian Longboard Titles Presented by HIF due to severe weather forecast for the region over the weekend.
Saturdays forecast is for gale force South-westerly winds over 50km/h affecting the strong swell for the weekend. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued Gale Force wind warnings for Saturday across the majority of Victoria’s coastline.
Surfing Victoria Official Swell Forecaster, Coastalwatch PLUS, is forecasting 4-6ft of long period swell for the region with strong winds associated with a cold front hitting the state this afternoon.
Round one of the Be the Influence Victorian Longboard Titles Presented by HIF will be rescheduled to the 17th May on the same weekend as Round 2 of the series held at Point Impossible.
