Southern Hemisphere kicks off to an early, active start

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 April, 2013 : - - The southern Pacific is off to a solid start in 2013, gracing the western shores of the Americas solid surf over the last couple weeks. Approaching the 2013 Quiksilver Ceremonial Chile waiting period (April 15 – June 15), the short-term forecast is calling for more of the same in central Chile, where Punta de Lobos is located.

Throughout this week, fun 3’-6’ surf accompanied by light, variable winds, will be found at the point, while moving into next weekend (April 6-7), a healthy dose of longer period, 6’-10’ surf should slowly build. This is promising, compared to 2012’s sluggish start and eventual “no go” for the Ceremonial.

Stay tuned as we approach opening day of the 2013 Quiksilver Ceremonial Chile, and weekly reports from the Condor himself, Mr. Peter Mel.
