“She is an exceptional athlete, possesses a real positive attitude and has an amazing love and understanding of the ocean. She really is a great fit for Billabong.”
Along with her unique competitive success in both longboarding and shortboarding, Justine has also gained a reputation as one of the world’s premier female big-wave surfers.
Her efforts at the infamous big wave spots of Aileens in Ireland and Belharra in France have gained her both worldwide coverage and universal respect.
Additionally her tube riding exploits in waves of consequence have seen her on numerous covers, in both mens and girls magazines, all over the world.
In December 2013 she rode a wave at Belharra that is considered to be 40 feet high and a contender for the Billabong XXL Ride of the Year Awards. She backed that up by then paddle surfing the same wave during the Hercules swell, taking her place in the line-up alongside fellow Billabong surfers and big wave legends Shane Dorian and Benjamin Sanchis.
“My main goal for 2014 is to compete on the ASP World Tour and qualify for the elite top 14 in 2015,” said Dupont.
“I will continue with my big wave surfing, to learn and improve. I’m a surfer first and just love to ride any board that suits the conditions. I’ll just keep surfing every chance I can and now more than ever I am really looking forward to the year ahead.”
