Body Glove holds festivities on the Big Island
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 7 November, 2013 - Last week Body Glove celebrated 60 years in business by throwing a two-day long celebration on The Big Island of Hawaii. The party included a rockin' live concert by Grammy nominated singer Henry Kapono and all time local favorite L.T Smooth.
Both Governor Abercrombie's and Mayor Kenoi's office presented proclamations to the Meistrell family for their outstanding contribution to the watersport industry for the last six decades. The party started at the iconic Royal Kona Resort and ended at the stylish Wyland Oceanfront Gallery.
With free Body Glove giveaways and a Tiki Mug release party there were hundreds of local folk and visiting tourists in attendance. The Body Glove Sea Creature made a special appearance at both events that added to the festivities.
"It is an honor to have the Meistrell family in our Island to help celebrate this mile stone event" quoted Mayor Billy Kenoi, "We look forward to helping celebrate Body Glove for many more years to come" he added.
“There was no better place than Kona to continue the celebration of our 60 year anniversary. The town and the people really opened their arms and made these two nights of parties and our entire trip really special,” said Jenna Meistrell, Communications Director of Body Glove International.
