Jamie O’Brien, Alex Gray, Cheyne Magnusson & Crew Join West Coast Premier
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 28 November, 2013 - Redondo Beach - Body Glove International premiered their newest movie Live From the Moon this past weekend to three packed theaters on the West Coast. All surfers from the movie were in attendance including: Jamie O’Brien, Alex Gray, Cheyne Magnusson, Tika Smith, Anthony Walsh, and Ezekiel Lau. Live From the Moon, sponsored by GoPro, Osiris and Surfing Magazine, is a journey into the modern world of surfing and surf travel pursuing the most remote and exotic locations.
“Our goal was to surf good waves and we were really lucky that our guys read swell maps really well. That’s all they do—they wake up in the morning and their newspaper is a swell chart,” states Greg Browning, Body Glove Entertainment. “The movie was a big undertaking, but we followed the Body Glove mantra “Do what you love, love what you do,” and everything else was easy after that.”
The premieres started at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse, then headed to the La Paloma Theater in Encinitas and lastly traveled up north to the Isla Vista Theater in Santa Barbara. Over 3,000 dollars was raised for the charities of choice for each venue: the South Bay Boardriders Club, Surfriders Foundation: Isla Vista and UCSB Surf Club.
Live From the Moon, thanks to Grandview Distribution, will be available on iTunes Dec. 3rd and will be on sale at local surf shops Nov. 27th.
