Over 500 surfers will compete in five divisions at Coffs Harbor 

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 August, 2014 - For the first time in history, the Australian Surf Festival at Coffs Harbour will start with the Wahu Australian Bodyboard Titles. The Australian Surf Festival from August 1-18 is expected to attract more than 500 surfers from around the country.

National titles will be decided in Open Surf Masters, Single Fin, Longboard and Logger divisions plus the inaugural Wahu Australian Bodyboard Titles from August 14-18.

"We are now in our sixth year of sponsoring the Wahu Surfer Groms Comps and are delighted to once again partner with Surfing Australia to sponsor the first ever Wahu Australian Bodyboard Titles and hope there are many more to come," said Tim Britz, CEO Wahu International.

Bodyboard competitions will be held in 10 divisions.

“The Australian Surf Festival is now complete with all surfing disciplines being contested over all three Surfing Australia national title events,” said Contest Director Glen Elliott.

“The best bodyboarders in Australia will be competing for right to represent Australia at the ISA World Titles and to be crowned Australian champion, this will ensure a high performance level from all competitors.”

Coffs Harbour is home to a number of great beach break options that work in a variety of wind and swell conditions. The main base for the event will be Park Beach which is located north east of the Coffs Harbour CBD. The event is fully mobile in the Coffs Harbour region with numerous beach break options which include Park Beach, Macauley’s Beach, Diggers Beach, Jetty Beach, Gallows, Arrawarra Beach, Mulloway Beach, Woolgoolga Beach, Emerald Beach and Sapphire Beach. 

A hotline - 0458 247 212 - will be operating for the festival which will feature a recorded message updated at 6:45am each morning with the confirmed daily schedule and contest venue.

2-3 August - Australian Single Fin Titles
6-14 August - Australian Longboard Titles
7-10 August - Australian Logger Titles
