When the swell dies down, many of world's best bodyboarders hit the tennis courts for a hit in what has become a favorite pastime away from the waves. Capitalising on the popularity of the sport, the first Professional Bodyboarders Tennis Challenge doubles as a unique way of raising awareness for youth depression and suicide.

"It is a great opportunity for the elite riders to compete against their peers on a different sporting stage in aid of the prevention of youth depression and suicide," said Mick Parkhill, event organiser and owner of Bodyboarders Surf Co. "There has been a buzz around the bodyboarding community, we have had an unexpected amount of support from sponsors who are all keen to battle it out with their riders.”

In addition to the tournament, there will be a BBQ, music and a raffle with prizes valued over Dollars. The event will be a family-friendly occasion with the public able to get up close and personal with some of the world's best bodyboarders during the winter school holidays.
