Domke talks about mission in interview with Sports Illustrated
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 5 February, 2016 - On the heels of his recent groundbreaking (post Jaws) interview with SI and fresh from his first serious snowboard session at a powdered Mountain location somewhere in the Pacific NW, the erstwhile pro Skimboarder, come Big Wave Paddle Surfer known to the world as Brad Domke, is now en route to tick off one more spot on his 'Bucket List'; to surf the iconic and dangerous "Big Wave" Northern California break of Maverick's, at size.
Mr. Domke is bringing his usual bag of tricks to the Northern California Big Wave spot, which includes his trustee Exile Skimboard - to show the world how to ride giant Maverick's without fins; just because he can. In fact, although comparisons to Athletes from Olympic Gold Medal Snowboarder, Shaun White to Pro Surfers, John, John Florence and 11X World Champ Kelly Slater abound; it is quickly becoming apparent that Mr. Domke is a rarefied talent that deserves to be esteemed in a category all his own.
Doubters, haters and conventional wisdom aside, Brad Domke is on a mission. He's making waves and taking names. Domke has proven himself to be a waterman and multi-board sport talent that is not afraid to take on a new challenge. It remains to be seen just how far he will push the envelope and stretch the boundaries of what has previously been thought possible (with or without fins).
