Filipe joins Stance on heels of stellar 2015 year on WSL WT
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 11 March, 2016 - Title contender Filipe Toledo has joined the Stance team. He joins Chippa Wilson, John John Florence and others as part of Stance’s Punks & Poets project.
“It’s easy with Stance because I feel like I’m working with my extended family that gets me and my style,” said Toledo in a statement. “My style of surfing and approach to life has no boundaries and Stance mirrors that with their product, no creative boundaries.”
Originally from Ubatuba, Brazil, currently residing in San Clemente, CA, Filipe is the son of Ricardo Toledo, a well respected Brazilian surfer. He started surfing with only 10 months with his father and at 4 year of age, he was already taking her first waves alone. .
In 2015, Toledo had the best year of his professional career on the WSL World Tour, managing to grab his ﬁrst 3 WCT event wins, getting at least one perfect 10 in each ﬁnal he competed. Toledo was also the surfer with most WCT event wins of the year. He went on to ﬁnish the 2015 season in 4th place. Filipe brings an interesting edge to surfing, he’s progressive and consistent, and above all, what really maters at the end of the day is that he has tons of fun out in the water.
