Another little known Canadian Surfing fact;, Tim Boal 2009 ASP World Tour surfer is the son on an Irish immigrant to Canada. His fater immigrated to British Columbia and knew Tofino long before surfing ever appeared on the scene. His father in fact was instrumental in the introductytion of Windsurfing to parts of British Columbia.
Tim was born in Philipsburg St Maarten, Netherlands Antilles, while his parents were travelling around the world on their saling boat. He subsequently first jumped on to a surfboard in St Barths French West Indies at the age of three.
