'Clay Marzo: Just Add Water' premiers in Orange County

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 9 September, 2008 : - - Huntington Beach -- Quiksilver team-rider Clay Marzo joined friends, fans and family last night at the Orange County Performing Arts Center for the world premiere of 'Clay Marzo: Just Add Water,' an epic film that dives beneath the surface of one of the most gifted and creative surfers in the world, 19 year-old Clay Marzo.

The film gives a never-before-seen look at Clay's mind-blowing skills in the water and the challenges he faces on land as a result of Asperger's syndrome.   Quiksilver, along with ROCKSTAR Energy Drink and SUPERbrand Surfboards, hosted the red carpet evening which included an after-party gear-giveaway and concert with Pinback.

The film's producer and Quiksilver Surf Program Director Strider Wasilewski and E! Entertainment's Daily 10 host Sal Masekela opened the evening with a warm welcome to the crowd. Among special guests filling the two-level auditorium were Clay's longtime friends and fellow Maui surfers Granger Larsen and Kai Barger, Clay's parents Gene and Jill Marzo, videographer Adam Klevin and the film's director Jamie Tierney. Quiksilver CEO Bob McKnight and his family also came to toast the project.

Izzy, Danielle and Isaiah Paskowitz from Surfer's Healing made a special appearance, thanking Clay and Quiksilver for the ongoing support of their organization and for giving hope to people affected by Asperger's and autism. A portion of the film's proceeds will be given to Surfer's Healing, a foundation for autism that seeks to enrich the lives of children and families living with autism, by exposing them to the unique experience of surfing.
The film will be available in stores beginning in October.
