Scott Eastwood stars in film based loosely on Ian McCormack
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 25 February, 2014 - Ian McCormack’s tale of surfing, travel and redemption has been made into a movie launching in South Africa this weekend. Moviegoers can see Clint Eastwood’s son Scott Eastwood in the new movie The Perfect Wave. The film, in which Scott plays kiwi surfer Ian McCormack, tells the true story of a rebellious young man’s journey as he searches for the meaning of life.
At the heart of the film is McCormack’s near-death experience, which changes his life forever. While night diving in Mauritius he gets stung by a box jelly and almost dies. Also starring in The Perfect Wave is former Charlie’s Angel, Cheryl Ladd.
“Ian McCormack is currently in South Africa to promote the film and talk about the incident that impacted his life,” Bruce Macdonald, director and producer of The Perfect Wave, told South Africa’s Channel 24.
