World Tour rookie Atkinson hails from South Australia
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 11 March, 2014 - C-Skins Wetsuits announce the official signing of WCT Rookie Dion Atkinson, which will see the South Australian covered in C-Skins rubber at the colder events throughout the 2014 WCT.
Hailing from Adelaide, Atkinson has spent years hunting the heavy slabs that Australia’s southern deserts serve up. Dion’s surfing is for the purists out there, his mixture of rail work and ability in the pit are well suited to the hardcore WCT stop-offs of Margie’s and Bells Beach that lie waiting on the Aussie leg.
When asked in a recent interview how he felt about the new season Dion commented “I’m not feeling any pressure, you strive so hard to get to this point, now I’ve got the opportunity I’m going to embrace it and enjoy every moment. I’m stoked to be working with C-Skins Wetsuits, not only because they believe in me, but because wetsuits are such an important part of my surfing and they have to right for me to perform at my best. C-Skins Wetsuits work for me.”
Tomas Martin who heads up C-Skins Wetsuits Australia, in Byron Bay said “The C-Skins team are stoked to have Dion surfing our wetsuits and from what we have seen from Dion so far we believe we have a great long term partnership ahead. Dion’s attitude towards his ‘CT’ rookie year perfectly reflects our brand – he’s the new kid on the block who’s passionate to succeed on the big stage and who’s going to have fun while doing it!”
C-Skins are a young, focused and innovative surf wetsuit company run by Surfers from all over the world. Dion’s professionalism, motivation and ability to relay feedback on our product range will help to keep C-Skins at the forefront of wetsuit design, especially in the testing colder climates.
