DRAGON 'EXPERIENCE' WINNERS MAKE WAY TO CALIFORNIA FROM AROUND THE WORLD

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 10 September, 2009 : - - Carlsbad, CA- Dragon’s Experience Web Game has come to an exciting finale, with five lucky winners from around the world getting set for the “Experience” of a life time.

Tom Pidcock from Nundari (Australia), Ryota Yaginuma from Yawata (Japan), Dan Taylor from San Diego (USA), Andrew Fairclough from Swansea (United Kingdom) and  Juan Cattan from Guayaquil (Ecuador) will arrive in California this weekend to meet and surf with Rob Machado.  As well as being his special guest to Surfer Poll Awards next week, winners will also receive VIP passes to the WCT Trestles Event and Rob Machado signed Experience sunglasses.

Australian winner Tom Pidcock said he couldn’t believe it when he got the call. “I was blown away,” Tom said. “I am such a fan of Rob’s to be able to surf with him is a dream come true, I am still pinching myself.” Tom, a university student in NSW, said his studies suffered because of the game, but it was worth it.

“I got really into the ECO Game, I think that is how I won,” he said. “Rob is environmentally conscious, and so am I. I checked out all the environmental website links on the game.”

Machado’s Experience ECO sunglasses are made for 100% renewable materials (a world first) and provided the inspiration for the third stage of the game where users virtually surfed endangered breaks around the world including Kirra (Australia), J Bay (South Africa) and Mundaka- (Spain).

Machado’s two other Experience sunglass colour-ways, Momentum and Mellow Tort, also inspired the second and fist stage of the web game. In the Momentum stage, users virtually surfed Pipe Line Hawaii, reminiscent of Rob’s win at the event in 2000. In the Mellow Tort inspired “ Journey” stage, users virtually surfed Rob’s five favourite waves, symbolizing his shift from the pro tour and his focus on putting the soul back in surfing.
