Surf stars stoke out VIP groms at Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 2 March, 2015 - Coolangatta, Australia - Eight Vegemite SurfGroms were living the dream across the weekend as VIP guests at Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast.

Quiksilver and Roxy ambassadors including four-time World Champions Mark Richards and Lisa Andersen along with Craig Anderson were on hand to teach the next generation of surfers.

Vegemite SurfGroms is the world-first national junior surfing program which offers 5-12 year olds an opportunity to develop strong ocean awareness and beach safety skills, while also developing a proficiency in surfing.

More than 35,000 children across Australia have enjoyed the program since it started in October, 2011.

Every registered participant had a chance to win a ‘money can’t buy’ trip to see the world’s best surfers by providing a photo of them enjoying the program through the Nikon Coolpix competition.

The prize included: flights and transfers to Coolangatta Airport for one child and one adult; one night’s accommodation at Coolangatta for one child and one adult; Nikon COOLPIX AW120 camera; a Quiksilver or Roxy merchandise pack; exclusive behind the scenes tour of the Snapper Rocks event site and the opportunity to meet and surf with some Quiksilver and Roxy surfing ambassadors.
