Event gets second delay announcement

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 10 May, 2012 : - - The English National Surfing Championships has been postponed until 26-27 May, due to small wave conditions and a poor swell forecast. The English Surfing Federation (ESF) has made the decision to defer the event which was due to take place at the Extreme Academy, Watergate Bay on the bank holiday weekend, 5-7 May.

The famous surfing contest will now be rescheduled for the end of the month subject to conditions. A final decision will be made on Thursday 24 May. ESF Chairman Andy Sturt said: “We are at the mercy of mother nature and if the weather systems aren’t generating any surf then we can not compete. “It is immensely frustrating but we do plan for alternative dates when such conditions occur. At the end of the day we really want the best possible surf for competitors”.
