Over 100 athletes competed in the points based series

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 10 June, 2015 -  USA SUP Team's Chuck Glynn and Riviera Paddlesurf's Ryan Helm gave the crowd an epic finish to the Elite 8 mile race in Mission Bay at stop #1 of the Creed SUP Sunday Sunday Sunday Paddle Race Series presented by West Coast Paddle Sports & Aztek Paddle. 

The two elite athletes battled the entire race, finishing up shoulder to shoulder & stroke for stroke, until the final charge where Chuck Glynn broke free to the finish line, much to the delight of the cheering crowd! Chuck's time was 1:28 - The Paddle Academy's Daniel Russel took home a close third place. The camaraderie and passion among multiple elite paddle teams and individual competitors, was seen time and time again on Sunday - showing fans just how exciting paddle racing can actually be. 

Over 100 athletes competed in the points based series - With two dates remaining this summer, it is still anyone's guess who will come out on top. Overall season points winners will receive custom trophies, great gear & prizes - plus cash for elite racers.

"We couldn't have asked for a better start to the series." said co-founder Brian Terhorst. "We saw professional & amateur athletes from all over, racing today in these challenging conditions... and the general consensus is; our new starting line format & technical courses are exactly what the athletes are looking for!"

RVLT Surf looks forward to a busy summer season of Pro Am flatwater paddle races. The Sunday Paddle Race series kicked off with 8, 4 & 1.5 mile courses, designed exclusively for SUP & Prone paddlers. All races are run entirely within Mission Bay. New courses include multiple twists & buoy turns as well as upwind & downwind challenges. Elite divisions are designed to attract top athletes from around the globe. 

These events are a virtual 'Who's who' of the Southern California SUP & Prone paddle Industry, where top brands & manufacturers line the banks of Bonita Cove, offering athletes & racing enthusiasts a look at their latest gear and even opportunities to demo their products. Individuals new to the sport or taking their workouts to the next level can try out some of the top gear from Creed SUP, Westcoast Paddlesports, AZTEK Paddles, Jimmy Lewis, Kings Paddle Sports, YoloBoards, Isle Surf & SUP and more. 

Live musical performances, fun beach games, great food & drink as well as the Green Beach Fest, will keep spectators engaged as the racing drama unfolds.  

RVLT Surf has partnered with The Surfrider Foundation, Sea Save Foundation and Ocean Force Foundation, offering them use of the 'Green Beach' platform to help raise awareness towards critical environmental issues. The SD Burn Institute, Swell Hearts and Challenged Athletes Foundation have also been invited to the events to raise awareness & funding for their important causes.
