Guanacaste local Geovanny Espinoza claims the win | Español

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 February, 2014 - At the second stop in the Circuito Nacional de Stand Up Paddle, Geovanny Vega Espinoza took home two wins this weekend in both the 9 and 4.5 kilometer races.

The local from Guanacaste won with times of 1:12:35 and 38:25 respectively. This would be the second double-win for Espinoza, and fuels his campaign to make it to the World Championships in Nicaragua.

In the 4.5 Km., his lead was more than 1 minute ahead of the second place winner, Remy Bousquet, who also took double-silver medals. In the 9 Km race, Espinoza was more than 2 minutes ahead of Bousquet, as the competitors faced tough winds in their race around the island infront of Tamarindo beach.

The competitors are looking ahead in preparation for the next stop on the Circuito Nacional de Stand Up Paddle SURFTECH, which will take place at the Paseo de los Surfistas in Puntarenas, on March 29.
