EuroSIMA contest hosts who's-who judging panel

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 21 May, 2014 - EuroSIMA have announced the launch of their latest EuroSIMA Innovation Award Contest for 2014. Previous winners include FCS, Rip Curl & NO TOX. EuroSIMA (Surfing industry manufacturer's association) announces the sixth edition of its Innovation Award Contest, the 2014 Environmental and Technological Innovation Award.

Open to EuroSIMA members only, the contest brings together a jury of experts and professionals who evaluate projects in order to highlight the best innovations of the current year.

• Company capabilities: adequate human and financial means to launch and implement the project (experience, expertise and skills relative to the target field, institutional or private funding).

• Market potential: consumer needs analysis, market segmentation, development strategy (prices, partners, competition...) market potential.

• Level of technological innovation: state of the project, technology, testing, protection (patent) and added value.

• Environmental performance: overall eco-design.

Past Winners
2013 // FCS - FCSII - A new system with surfboard fins that lock into the plug, eliminating the need for screws. The system makes changing fins both easier and faster.

2012 // RIP CURL - Flash Bomb - Made with a new type of neoprene, 20% lighter and more elastic, Rip Curl’s «Flashmob» wet suit line provides increased warmth and ultra-quick drying thanks to the innovative lining.

2011 // NO TOX - Gamme GreenOne - High quality manufacturing processes as well as the components used in these eco-designed surfboards provide reduced environmental impacts: local sourcing, national or European and recycled raw materials.

Target: Contest open exclusively to EuroSIMA members. Only finished projects or those reaching the European market in 2014 will be considered. Awards: Winners will be announced during the boardsports annual Waterman’s Ball. Winners will receive 5 000 Euros as well as significant visibility through EuroSIMA throughout 2014.
