Surfing Australia Updates
Over 50 events are confirmed to be taking place over the calendar year
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 1 December, 2015 - Surfing NSW announces its 2016 event calendar. Over 50 events are already confirmed to be taking place over the calendar year, with proceedings getting underway from the 9th January when the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle kicks off in Kiama.

Benchmark events on the calendar include: The NSW Pro Surf Series, Australian Open of Surfing, the bcu Australian Surf Festival and the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle National Final.
Major changes from 2015 will be the new Yamba Surf Festival, where Open longboards, shortboards and logs, will attempt to nab themselves an Open NSW Title; and the NSW Junior State Titles at Port Macquarie, which will see junior longboarders and shortboarders partake in an action packed week of surfing.
A new Surfing NSW World Surf League (WSL) Trials event - to be held on the 14th January 2016 - will determine a wildcard for WSL Qualifying Series (QS) events: the Australian Open of Surfing and the Burton Automotive Pro.
Surfing NSW will be conducting daily media services at over 40 of the events.
Dates for the 2016/2017 Wahu Surfer Groms Comp series, the Rip Curl GromSearch series and the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle will be confirmed in the coming months.
