Catch the screening that features San Diego local Chris Del Moro
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 8 September, 2014 - Surf Splendor Podcast will be hosting an exclusive screening of Jason Baffa’s latest surf film, Bella Vita, at the AMC Marina Pacifica theater in Long Beach on Wednesday, September 24th, 2014. Bella Vita follows the path of San Diego professional surfer, Chris Del Moro, as he traces his family’s lineage through Italy.
Joined by fellow surfers Dave Rastovich, Conner and Parker Coffin, Leonardo Fioravanti and others, the crew works a wine harvest, learns the art of marble sculpting, pasta making, and scores great waves in a effort to fully immerse themselves in the Italian culture. The crew also uncovers Italy’s short but proud surfing history and shares a session with Italy’s surfing pioneers.
Filmmaker Jason Baffa, known for Singlefin: Yellow and One California Day, who has proven a strength in romantically capturing the surfing aesthetic and ideals puts emotional weight in Bella Vita taking the audience to a place beyond a surf film.
“Bella Vita is at it’s heart, an intimate story about life as see through the eyes of surfers.” Jason Baffa
A visual epic captured in stunning 35mm, Bella Vita is an intimate and powerful journey of self-discovery, steeped in culture, tradition, and passion where family comes first.
