T&C hosts "Go Big!" IBA World Tour meet and greet

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 March, 2014 - Prior to facing off against one another in competition at the infamous Banzai Pipeline more than two dozen top-ranked bodyboarding pros came together to greet fans at T&C Surf’s “Go Big!” at Ala Moana Center Stage. The wet and rainy day did not stop core fans from turning out for yesterday’s perpetual event.

The 17th annual “Go Big!” served as the official kick-off for the IBA Tour Pipe Challenge, the first event on the IBA World Tour where Hawaii Pros and International Pros go head to head.

Go Big fans were able to meet the pros they idolize and win their share of over $5000 in bodyboarding gear. This community event was free and open to the public.

A slew of top-ranked pros were on hand to meet and greet their fans. The event included the current world champion Ben Player, 3x world champion Jeff Hubbard, past 9x world champion Mike Stewart, 6x world champion Guilherme Tamega and other top contenders.

"The best of the best professional bodyboarders coming together from around the World happens right here at Ala Moana Center and I am thrilled to be part of it” said Tamega.

Bruddah Bryan from 93.1 The Paina challenged the fans against one another to win their share of bodyboards, fins, leashes, board bags and more!

Contestants lined up as early as four hours ahead of time to compete for the prizes in a series of off-the-wall games – a tradition at the “Go Big!” every year.

Perennial favorites such as “Stool Master” and “Face the Cookie” were played, along with some wacky new challenges. Everyone walked away a winner ready to charge the water and try out their new bodyboarding gear!
