FCS will be the exclusive fin and hardware supplier to the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 23 May, 2012 : - - Leading surfboard fin manufacturer FCS will maintain a place at the forefront of surf training by becoming the exclusive fin and hardware supplier to the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC). FCS will provide a test facility giving patrons access to its extensive range of fins to sample during their time at the HPC. FCS fins will also be used in the 40-strong surfboard testing quiver provided by Darren Handley Designs, Channel Islands Surfboards and Lee Stacey Surfboards.
Funded by the Federal Government, the $2 million HPC is a world-first facility dedicated to the development of elite surfers and coaches and will ensure Australia maintains its place as a world leader in the sport. Designed in consultation with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), the HPC will be officially opened on June 15.
The two-level centre of excellence will boast state of the art education facilities, equipment, and accommodation and will be at the forefront of sports science and coaching development for surfing.
In addition to the wide selection of fins in the test centre, FCS will also provide hardware including FCS Leashes and Gorilla Pads for the 40 boards in the HPC test quiver. They will also provide prize packs for participants at many of the HPC camps and become a support sponsor of Surfing Australias annual Green Room Coaching Conference.
Were honoured to be partnering with the Hurley Surfing Australia HPC, and also excited to be giving such a diverse range of surfers full access to an FCS Test Drive Centre and education facility, said FCS Brand Ambassador and Former ASP World Tour surfer Richie Lovett. Experimenting with different fin templates is ultimately the best way to fine-tune and maximise the performance of your board, so anyone attending the centre will have the same opportunity as the worlds leading pro surfers.
Weve also worked closely for many years with the manufacturers supplying boards for the test facility so were in good company. Were confident that surfers will come away from their experience at the HPC with a new perspective on the relationship between their board and their fins. Surfing Australia CEO Andrew Stark said FCS was an ideal partner to ensure the HPC became the world leader in surfing training, education and research.
Its great to have FCS support the HPC and provide the perfect complement to the surfboard test centre, he said. It will allow all HPC participants an opportunity to experiment with the latest FCS fins so they have access to the right equipment to match different conditions.
