FCS now a support sponsor of boardriders battle

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 21 August, 2014 - Leading water boardsports brand FCS has extended its partnership as Surfing Australia’s official fin and hardware supplier for a further two years. FCS will broaden their partnership and become a support sponsor of the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle and a support sponsor of the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC).

The Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle is the biggest grassroots, boardriders event in Australia. Beginning in October, it involves more than 100 of Australia’s best boardriders clubs across eight State qualifying rounds, culminating in a two-day National Final for 20 clubs on the 2015 Australia Day Long Weekend at Cronulla in Sydney.
Situated at Casuarina in northern New South Wales, the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC) is the world's first facility dedicated to helping surfers reach a higher performance level so they enjoy the full experience of surfing.
FCS will provide a test facility giving patrons access to its extensive range of fins to sample during their time at the HPC.  FCS fins will also be used in the 35-strong surfboard testing quiver provided by DHD (Darren Handley Designs) and Mayhem Surfboards.

In addition to the wide selection of fins in the test centre, FCS will provide hardware including FCS leashes and deck grips for the boards in the HPC test quiver. They will also provide prize packs for participants at many of the HPC camps.

“We’re really excited to continue our association with Surfing Australia, all the supporting sponsors, and now the Original Source Australian Boardriders Battle,” said FCS Brand Ambassador Richie Lovett. “Everything we do at FCS is about enhancing the water boardsports experience, and improving a surfer’s performance, which is also at the heart of the HPC.”

“Giving surfers access to different fins and hardware so they can experiment and fine tune their performance is something we believe in. This partnership enables us to reach the recreational surfer, right through to the most experienced pro, so it’s a great initiative.”
FCS has always been at the forefront of innovation and performance, and their latest technology, the new FCS II system, has quickly received global recognition. Since being released into the market, 11 ASP World Championship Tour events, and two ASP World Titles have been won by surfers riding the FCS II system and fins.

“The release of the FCS II system has been very successful, and we’re stoked to collaborate with amazing shapers like DHD and Matt Biolos to supply the HPC with the latest in systems, fins and hardware," Lovett said. "Surfers can choose from a comprehensive range of FCS II fins which includes the Essential, Athlete and Shaper series.”

Surfing Australia CEO Andrew Stark said: “FCS is a perfect fit partner for Surfing Australia through our national club series and the HPC. Our purpose is to create a healthier and happier Australia through the experience and joy of surfing.

“There is no doubt the FCS products contribute to surfers of all levels enjoying their surfing more. Their products are market leading and their commitment to innovation, research and development is extremely aligned with the HPC and our sports science research program philosophy. We are proud to partner with such an iconic trusted brand as FCS and welcome the support into the future.”
