FINAL LEG OF THE RIP CURL GROMSEARCH SERIES

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 16 November 2004: - - The final leg of the Rip Curl Gromsearch Series to be held at Muriwai is closing in. With air tickets and entry into the International Gromsearch event on the line, the mass of groms will be out fevering over the top spots for 2004.

Muriwai Beach has been the host of a number of grom events including several Rip Curl Gromsearch competitions. As the last event of the year and with summer approaching, a huge turnout is expected. Unfortunately the New Zealand Junior team will be absent from the event while competing at the World Junior Champs in Tahiti. This will allow many groms to make up ground on the ratings as they vie for the six 2004 GromSearch titles on offer.

Rip Curl will be awarding the Under 16 Boys and Girls Gromsearch Series winners with airline tickets and entry into the International Rip Curl Gromsearch event. The event will be held at the WCT Rip Curl Pro, Bells Beach Australia in April 2005! The Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach is one of the World's best known sporting event's and longest running surfing event in the world.

The New Zealand Rip Curl Gromsearch Series is the longest running grommet series in New Zealand. The series comprised four events in 2004. Events are scheduled for each of the school holidays and are dotted around New Zealand. Rip Curl Gromsearch events focus on participation in the sport of surfing and are held worldwide. The events offer an excellent opportunity for youngsters to meet other surfers and compete against each other many for the first time in their lives.

The Rip Curl Gromsearch Series now has Nintendo as a major sponsor. The world's most popular hand held games console recently became even cooler when Monaco Corporation released the new special edition Rip Curl Game Boy Advance SP earlier this year! The Special Edition Rip Curl Gameboy Advance takes its place beside the Gameboy Advance on retail shelves. It's an exciting release for both companies and has been a hit amongst the groms at this year’s first three legs of the Rip Curl Gromsearch Series!

Please find attached an entry form for Event Four in the Rip Curl Gromsearch Series. Entries close Wednesday 8th December. Surfers can also obtain entry forms from the official Surfing New Zealand website www.surfingnz.co.nz.

The Rip Curl Gromsearch Series is brought to you by Rip Curl, Nintendo and New Zealand Surfing Magazine. The event would not be possible without the support of Maori Bay Boardriders and Surfing New Zealand.
