Taylor was integrally involved in the designs of the TJ Pro & TJ Everyday
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 22 November, 2011 : - - After competing since he was 17, Taylor Jensen finally achieved a life-long goal and clinched the ASP Longboard World Title. A perennial favorite on any given day and the winner of numerous events over the past few years, the World Title had previously eluded him.
Im so stoked, its hard to believe this is happening, Taylor commented after the win. I have been working so hard for so long and to finally have this trophy in my hands and to be celebrating with all of my friends on tour is amazing. Im really just trying to soak it all in and enjoy the moment as much as I can.
Taylor continued, A big thank you to all my sponsors and the Firewire Surfboards crew, my boards have been feeling amazing all year and thats a huge part of feeling confident and being able to succeed. Taylor has been riding two Firewire longboard designs over the past few years, a high performance 900 designed by Dan Mann and a slightly thicker, more nose-rider friendly 904 designed by Nev Hyman.
Taylor was integrally involved in the designs and Firewire is now offering both shapes for the longboard market as the TJ_Pro (900) and the TJ_Everyday (904).
Firewire believes that refinements to the shape of todays modern surfboards can only produce incremental performance benefits. Exponential improvements in performance can only be achieved through new materials and construction methods which, in turn, will open up new design opportunities.
