First Annual Cape Fear Clean Water Classic in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, IRVINE, Calif. – September 29, 2005 – Redsand®, the Orange County based youth lifestyle brand, and Surfrider Foundation, will team up to present the First Annual Cape Fear Clean Water Classic on October 8 and 9 in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of this event,” says Devin Johnson, Marketing Director for Redsand®.  “Redsand® and Surfrider Foundation partnering for a totally grassroots event in one of the most respected surf communities on the entire east coast is a perfect formula. These kinds of events embody what the spirit of surfing is all about.”

The Cape Fear Clean Water Classic will showcase team competition ranging from Redsand® team riders, Surfrider chapters, regional colleges and local surf shops. An 18 and under open division is also available for those wanting to compete individually in the contest.

Of course, no surf contest is complete without a party.  The University of North Carolina Wilmington campus will host the Clean Water Classic Luau on Saturday following the competition. Food, live music and raffle contest games will be provided to all who attend.  The weekend will be capped off with an awards ceremony on Sunday.
