Surfers Healing in NC raises money for surf camp
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 16 August, 2014 - Allison Burbage isn't shying away from the goal. The fundraising coordinator for Surfers Healing, Folly Beach, has worked for over four months to net $15,000 in time for Wednesday. "I think we'll make it," she said.
Burbage, along with others in the Folly Beach community, gathered at Loggerhead's Beach Grill Saturday, as part of a day-long auction and raffle in support of Surfers Healing.
The national program, founded by Israel and Danielle Paskowitz, parents of an autistic child, hosts annual surf camps for children living with autism, also spreading awareness and providing resources for their families.
"It's magical when you see the kids on the beach," said Loggerhead's owner Ed Iames.
