Vegemite Surfgroms VIPs

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 3 March, 2014 - Coolangatta - Eight Vegemite SurfGroms were hanging as VIP guests at the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast. Four-time World Champion surfers Mark Richards and Lisa Andersen along with Trials winner and Event Wildcard Matt Banting and Snapper Rocks junior Alyssa Lock were on hand to teach the next generation of surfers.

Vegemite SurfGroms is the world-first national junior surfing program which offers 5-12 olds an opportunity to develop strong ocean awareness and beach safety skills, while also developing a proficiency in surfing. More than 24,000 children across Australia have enjoyed the program since it started in October, 2011.

Every registered participant had a chance to win a trip to the Quiksilver Pro by providing a photo of themselves enjoying the program through the Nikon Coolpix competition.

The eight winners were:

They also had access to the best seats in town on the VEGEMITE Mightiest Seat on the Beach, which provides an uninterrupted, elevated view of the competition area plus also letting the kids try tarp surfing. It is operating each day from around 7.30 in morning through to 4pm and serving VEGEMITE on toast all day plus providing heaps of giveaways.
