2015 Surf Expo Recap

Surf Expo was once again a stellar few days of coastal and water-themed events, with a great mix of brands and products for buyers from specialty stores, resorts and cruise lines. Here’s a recap of our fav moments.

The Changing Retail Landscape: Day to Day Issues Facing Today’s Business Owners
Our very own Todd Canipe of Vertical Urge, Bruce Cromartie of BC Surf & Sport, and Todd Roberts of ZJ Boarding House came together to put on a dynamic panel that touched on the pressing issues affecting today’s action sports marketplace.

Hiring, Training and Motivating Employees
As business owners we understand how important employees are. She asked insightful questions that had all of us more pumped for the future of retail—we all feel better about designing bricks-and-mortar stores that catches everyone’s attention.

Shaper Off
Six iconic East Coast surfboard shapers competed in the 8th Annual Florida Shape Off at Surf Expo, in honor of 2010 East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame Inductee Bud Gardner. Florida shaper Mike Whisnant took home the grand prize and bragging rights.
