ISPO will demonstrate aspects of cold water surfing culture
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 17 October, 2014 - Over the last few years ISPO has successfully launched a number of action sports platforms including Backcountry & Freeski, the Longboard Embassy and Tailgate for freeride snowboarding, which have all been designed to encourage and build new opportunities for our industry. As ISPO is the leading technical sports fair, the launch of CWS -Cold Water Surfing as their next action sports platform is a natural development. And as the first technical b2b platform for surf in Europe this is a really positive move for the industry.
The market for cold water surfing products and services is almost as old as the surfing itself but what this new platform does is to provide an axis around which the companies who offer these products and services can come together and present this exciting movement to a larger retail and media audience. Brands, athletes, bloggers, designers and artists will all participate, combining with an activity programme that demonstrate different aspects of Cold Water Surfing culture, in an authentic and dynamic brand environment.
ISPO CWS is being launched in collaboration Eurosima with its 112 Active and 46 Associate Members and Carve the UKs leading Surf Magazine. Commented Fred Basse, EuroSIMA President on the launch of this new initiative “The search in surfing is everything and has a long heritage in this sport. The future of empty waves is in the cold water destinations and this platform will help us share and develop our technologies “ Steve England from Carve added “ what cold water brings to the retailers is the opportunity for them to offer a range of technical equipment which provide cold water solutions and to brands an opportunity to differentiate from surf fashion brands.
