Surf With the Boys coaching tour adds former WCT surfer to roster
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 24 February, 2015 - Torquay, Australia - Former World Tour surfer Jay ‘Bottle’ Thompson has joined forces with the Surfing Victoria High Performance coaching team for the Surf With The Boys Tour presented by Play It Safe By The Water, a series of coaching sessions from Torquay to Lakes Entrance.
After years of experience on the WQS and elite World Tour, Thompson has extensive experience and knowledge on the keys required to improve surfing performances and compete at the elite level.
The program begins in the east of the state at Lakes Entrance on Tuesday March 3rd, with each two hour session only $20 per participant.
Thompson will be joined by Surfing Victoria High Performance Coach and WQS surfer Cahill Bell-Warren, together the pair will share their experience and competitive knowledge in a fun, positive environment.
The program will also feature essential water safety elements to improve participant’s knowledge of ocean environments and provide them with skills to help them keep others safe in the water.
After Lakes Entrance, the program moves to Wonthaggi Secondary College, Phillip Island, Gunnamatta, 13th Beach and Torquay.
Surfing Victoria High Performance Coaching manager Adam Robertson is excited to have Thompson visit Victoria, “Bottle has been on surfing’s world stage for many years.
“He has competed at the highest level and coached some of the best surfers in the world, it is a great opportunity to have him travel Victoria and work with our developing athletes!“
The Surf With The Boys Tour is presented by Play it Safe by the Water and Surfing Victoria.
